We all have different concepts of true love, but the definition boils down to meeting the right one, the one who is destined to be with you for the rest of your life.
Below is a story of a couple who came across each other by chance but fate made its way to fulfill the works of destiny and tie them together.
Years ago, the then 7-years-old Tyrel Wolfe from Idaho, United States was one the children who religiously donate a care package to Samaritan’s Purse.
Samaritan’s Purse is an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization which extends assistance focusing on crisis relief and development as part of their missionary work. They operate in more than 100 countries all over the world including Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Hong Kong, Netherlands, and United Kingdom.
Tyrel contributes to the organization’s mission by sending old shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toiletries, and small toys which will be distributed during the Christmas season. Tyrel included one of his photos in cowboy attire in one care package so the receiver will have an idea who sent the goodies.
One of the lucky recipients was Joana who lives in Quezon City, Philippines. She received the one with Tyrel’s photo and said it means so much to her. Joana decided to send back a “thank you” note to express her gratitude to the sender. However, the note never reached Tyrel.
14 years later, Joanna still kept Tyrel’s photo and saw him on Facebook. In 2011, they started chatting and soon developed a spark for each other. The two discovered they have lots of common interests which includes their religious belief and love for Christian music.
After constant messages on Facebook, Tyrel used his hard earned savings to buy tickets and fly to the Philippines and visit Joana for 10 days.
During their first meeting, they immediately felt something unexplainable. Joanna recalled: “Once I saw his face, an amazing feeling came over me. I was so happy I cried,” to which Tyrel said: “All I knew was Joana was the one.”
Tyrel went back to the Philippines to ask Joana for marriage. And on October 5, 2014, as what destiny plans, the two officially tied the knot.
During their wedding ceremony, the couple requested the guests to also send Christmas care package to Samaritan’s Purse. Tyrel explained: “Operation Christmas Child is what brought Joana and me together, so we wanted to somehow make the project a part of our celebration.”
